Memorial Day Parade 2015 Questions & Sponsor Registration

Who Hosts the Parade?

The local stores, businesses, and organizations that are Members of the Canoga Park • West Hills Chamber of Commerce host the Memorial Day Parade. While the Chamber is responsible for Parade marketing and operations it is truly an effort of many organizations in our area and surrounding communities.
The theme of the Parade “Saluting the Price of Freedom” and we welcome communities and businesses outside of Canoga Park and West Hills to participate with bands, floats, and sponsorship.

How is the Parade Financed?

The Memorial Day Parade is a great family event that involves marketing, operational and administrative costs. Much of the work done for the Parade is done by volunteers but there are some expenses that are unavoidable. That is why we have a nominal charge for Parade Entries and seek individual small business sponsorships to offset costs. We also seek corporate sponsorships so we can give back to the community and make each Parade experience better every year.

Individual & Small Business Sponsorships

The following sponsorships are affordable and allow everyone the opportunity to join us as a Memorial Day Parade Sponsor. This is a local event with over 30,000 spectators and national recognition. We hope you agree and will help us keep this honorable event a tradition in Canoga Park.

We share Mayor Garcetti’s strong commitment to reducing poverty, and that is best achieved by creating good-paying middle class jobs that can actually lift individuals and families out of poverty. The dramatic minimum wage increases proposed for the City of Los Angeles would push jobs elsewhere while still not creating real paths out of poverty for those workers who remain. In The Bag

“In The Bag” is a great marketing opportunity for our members. Just bring 60 of your promotional items* (flyers, brochures, timely coupons, promotional novelties) to the Chamber office by noon on the Wednesday before the Breakfast. Your items will be part of “Goodie Bags” that will be given to the first 60 attendees at the Chamber Breakfast (items are limited to one item, per member, per month). It’s as simple as that!

Free Parking Drawing

Free Parking Drawing: Do you remember playing Monopoly with the “Free Parking” rule? Every time a player landed on “Free Parking” they would receive all the Cash, Community Chest and Chance cards that had accrued there. Well, we thought it would be fun to introduce the same idea. Members may drop off an item with a business card or flyer attached to include in our Free Parking Basket. All items must have a tangible value and not just a gimmick to promote your business. Every attendee at the Breakfast will receive one Free Parking Raffle Ticket and have the opportunity to purchase more. The drawing will be the last item on every Breakfast Agenda. It should be great fun.
