Mark the Calendars Memorial Day in Canoga Park Returns Monday, May 27, 2013
How quickly the year has gone, it seems like just yesterday that we celebrated Memorial Day in Canoga Park, and before we blink it will be back again this year it all begins on Monday, May 27th. This year’s theme is "Saluting the Price of Freedom"
First we have changed the Parade and 5K Run/Walk route. All this will now take place on Sherman Way.
The 5K Run/Walk will begin at the corner of Sherman Way and Desoto, travel east to Mason and then return back to Jordan returning east back to Mason. This oval track is guaranteed to be flat and fast. Once again the Chamber will be working Non-Profits and $10 for adults and $5 for 14 and under will be given back to participating organizations. The Parade will begin at the Corner of Sherman Way and Owensmouth and travel east to Mason on Sherman Way ending at the Frist Baptist Church where this year we will be hosting a car show. This year community judges will be on hand to give out cash prizes for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, place winners for floats, autos, and marching units.
As of 3/1/13 Sponsors this year include the Canoga Park Neighborhood Council, Westfield Topanga, Universal Nissan, Spectrum and Vista Ford Hometown Buffet.
To Finish the day we have added a car show in the Parking lot of First Baptist Church where we will also have food, and entertainment.
