Memorial Day Parade:
It is with a heavy heart that we notify you that we cancelled the 22nd Annual Canoga Park Memorial Day Parade scheduled for May 31, 2010. As you are aware the city is experiencing financial hardships; as a result, many services rendered by the City of Los Angeles for the Parade now have to be paid for and we do not have sufficient funds to cover those charges
The Chamber has been working to recruit sponsors for the 2010 Parade without success, so we have now begun working diligently to raise funds for the 2011 Parade.
Memorial Day Event:
However, instead of the Parade the Board of Directors made the decision to have a Memorial Day Festival, which will be held on Monday, May 31, 2010 on Sherman Way between Canoga Ave and Topanga Canyon Blvd from 10:00 a.m - 5:00 p.m. We anticipate an Old Fashion USO Show and entertainment, military artillery and armor show, booths with merchandise, Children's and Food Area.
Memorial Wall:
As part of the program we will honor our fallen heroes with a memorial wall. If you know a hero who gave the ultimate sacrifice during a war and would like to honor that individual, please provide the Chamber with an 8\" X 10\" photo, name, birth & death dates, rank and branch of service.
